Safe Medication DisposalThe Alameda County Safe Meds Coalition contacted Dr. Kreisberg in 2009, with the goal of reducing unused medications from collecting in homes, Dr. Kreisberg quickly began setting up take-back sites in pharmacies and police stations throughout the county.  As of September 2013, there are 30 sites operating in the county.  It soon became necessary to develop a sustainable means for funding the program.

In 2012, Dr. Kreisberg co-authored an ordinance, the Safe Medicine Disposal Ordinance that required pharmaceutical manufacturers to create a product stewardship program in the county,  providing this vital service to citizens throughout the county.  The ordinance became law in July of 2012.  Find Out More
